What is an Herbal CSA
and how does it work?
Herbal CSA stands for Community Supported Apothecary.
An Herbal CSA is one of the best ways to connect with and support local herbalists and receive seasonal herbal medicines. As a member, you pay an upfront yearly membership that helps to cover the cost and time of the harvest season, the medicine-making supplies and the preparation of the herbal medicines. Your home herbal apothecary will be stocked throughout the seasons!
Backyard Harvest Herbal CSA creates herbal medicines based on the inspiration of the seasons and the abundance of the harvests! Garden to bottle, these herbal medicines are made in small batches and infused with intention. Organic, local, garden grown and/or respectfully wild-crafted ingredients and the gratitude of reciprocity.

I bring seasonal rhythms alive with herbal medicine, community connection and regenerative reciprocity. Each season, I offer community members shares
of seasonal herbal remedies, inspiration and guidance
to support themselves and their families through the seasonal transitions.
As an herbalist, backyard farmer and earth tender, my intention is to inspire to share plant wisdom, reconnect ourselves and our communities to the rhythms of the seasons and remember our connection to earth’s medicines.
4 times a year, around the Solstices and Equinoxes, each CSA member receives a seasonal share of herbal medicines. These herbal medicines are ever-changing and inspired by the season’s harvest!

And, there’s a unique twist to this Herbal CSA, in which members get to choose what goes in their seasonal shares!
Each season I handcraft around 9 seasonal remedies and each member picks 4 items to be in their share. So you can get really specific in picking what is going to best support you and your family throughout the seasons.
What does the Backyard Harvest Herbal CSA membership include?

The wisdom of an herbalist who has learned how to nourish her dry constitution and nervous system with the support of seasonal routines, the wisdom of the plants and lots of ghee. And her knowledge from years of experience making herbal remedies and food as medicine that deeply nourish, ground, inspire and remind us how to live in rhythm with the cycles of the season.

Each share contains 4 seasonal remedies, in which members get to choose what goes in their shares to support you and your family through each season.

Herbal remedies may include seasonal herbal tea blends, tincture essences, immune syrups, infused oils, lotions and salves, broth bundles, infused honeys, herbal vinegars and more!

A Seasonal Newsletter steeped in recipes, self-care rituals, seasonal support, herbal resources and more; supporting you and your family in deepening your relationships with the gifts of each season and inspiration for creating seasonal resilience with the support of our herbal allies.

Your Herbal CSA will begin on the closest Solstice or Equinox at the time of your order. Each seasonal signup period does have a deadline, and this will determine in which season your membership begins.
